Hygienist
Jessica Moran graduated from Hostos Community College in The Bronx, NY, in 2016, obtaining her Dental Hygiene Associate degree. She started her Dental Hygiene career in Queens, NY, working for several dental practices before moving to Westbury with her family.
Jessica is fluent in English and Spanish, which makes her accessible to patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. She is also skilled at one-on-one oral hygiene instruction, which is frequently overlooked but necessary for proper care at home. She always includes a periodontal (gum) screening as part of your visit, which has been linked to overall health.
She excels at easing patients’ fears, boosting their confidence, and educating them to ensure a lifetime of optimum oral health. What she loves the most about her job is caring for her patients and providing them with the best care possible. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family.
Maria Heffernan
Dental Assistant
Maria is a certified dental assistant who has been with Dr. Smallberg and Dr. Satornino since they purchased the practice about 14 years ago. She is up-to-date on her CPR medical emergencies and infection control training. Maria is fluent in Spanish and can easily translate for any Spanish-speaking patient.
Her calm manner and friendly disposition put all of our patients at ease. Maria is experienced in dealing with all types of patients, including dental phobics, children, and elderly patients with advanced medical needs. She works with the doctors to make you comfortable during your appointment.
In addition to her role as a dental assistant, Maria also steps in at the front desk when needed, greeting patients with a smile and managing appointments with efficiency and care. Her ability to seamlessly transition between assisting and administrative tasks speaks to her versatility and commitment to the practice.
Toniette Padula
Dental Assistant
Toniette, also known as Toni, has been a dental assistant for over 40 years. She received her training from the Nassau School for Medical and Dental Assistants in Hempstead, NY.
She worked in Hewlett for nearly 10 years, and was introduced to implants in the early 90’s.
Toniette took some time off from her dental career so she could be a stay-at-home mom to raise her two children.
Once getting back into the field she gained experience working for doctors who placed implants and performed laser surgery. Toniette has experience in all phases of dentistry.
Toniette’s warm, friendly, and gentle manner will gain patients’ trust immediately. She has complete empathy for what they are experiencing once they are reclined in the dental chair. She enjoys connecting with each and every patient to become more familiar with their individual needs.
Toniette and her husband love the beach. She also enjoys vacationing in Aruba and Florida with her family.
Receptionist
Our front desk receptionist is the welcoming face and voice that helps create a smooth, positive experience for every patient who walks through our door. With a warm smile and kind, reassuring tone, they handle appointments, patient inquiries, and administrative tasks with remarkable efficiency and care.
